One Year Celebration
As you all know, my Koko is the most important person in the world to me therefore I'd been planning her first birthday party for months. Since her actual birthday was on a Monday, we just had a small celebration.
She woke up at midnight (she's a smart cookie) and I wished her a happy birthday then it was back to Kuddles. We then slept in until 10am (we like sleep) and I let her do whatever she wanted.
She ate apple slices (not sure why she picked that day to be healthy) and danced to Drake's Views album. I let her pull out all of her toys and make the biggest mess in the world then we went to the back of my apartment to play tag and sit on the dock. I even let her do it shoeless since we both like to be barefoot.
Since her dad had only 3 hours free from class that's when we did our loving on Koko. I had the bright idea that since she will have so much cake at her party that she can have a cinnamon roll (she's not had her own before). Her daddy even brought over a blue one candle so we can sing happy birthday. Since she's a sassy pants, she looked at us like idiots while we sang to her.
She then spent the rest of her special day with her grandparents, eating ice cream and throwing crayons at restaurants. (You gotta love her right?)
The actual birthday party was Saturday at home (across the Bay Bridge aka civilization).
The theme was "You are my Sunshine" which is a song I sing to her every night (plus its uber cute). Since I love party planning like her grandmom (paternal) does we worked together on the party. Since it was her house and she's just better at it, she was the host. I'm glad she did since it was raining and I would have freaked out because we originally planned to have it outside with moon bounces. Plus to be honest, I really don't like children and there were a lot there.
All my friends came from everyone just to love on Koko. Since there was so many different groups of people coming my anxiety was on 5,000 levels of crazy weeks before the party. To make matters worse, three hours before the party started I locked my keys and phone in my car, while it was running!! I needed to get my Zoloft from my trunk and managed to lock the doors when I got out of the car.
Despite all my nerves and my locking my keys in my car, I had a blast! I loved having everyone that she loves there to celebrate her amazing first year. (I am not going to lie, before and during the party I needed a coparent hug just to absorb my anxiety)
Because my lovebug is quite unique, when we all sung happy birthday to her she ate a chicken wing and didn't want to let it go. She also was the life of the party with her amazing dancing skills!
Can't wait to see what this next year brings us
