Atlanta Trip Prep

Atlanta Trip Prep

Now that finals are over, it's time for me to focus on the next thing: my Christmas trip to Atlanta.

My father's side of the family has never met Koko and I felt that it's important that she knows everyone. This is even more important because my mother does not have a large family so as of now the only family she knows is her dad's (that's not a bad thing but she has another family that would love to know her).

This is the first time Koko has ever been on a airplane and it's just her and I so I'm scared of a major toddler meltdown when I am all alone. Here is the list of all the things that I've been up to preparing for this trip:

  • Working extra hours at work since I'll be gone for so long and need to pay rent
  • Make sure my aunt has a car seat for Koko in Atlanta just to lessen my load
  • Deciding what to do with my car
    • I can't afford paying for parking for a week
    • DC has weird parking rules so I can't park at my mom's place
    • Settled on my amazing Phi Mu sister borrowing it because her fiancé will here from London and they need transportation
      • I wrote her a small manual about the quirks of my little used car
  • Recording myself singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
    • It's one of the only thing that calms her in a clutch
  • Checking the Atlanta weather like a mad man
  • Doing a trail run of wearing Koko in the Baby Bjorn for 30 mins
    • My back was killing me
  • Laying out 7 days worth of outfits for us then packing them
    • I took pictures of the outfits too so I can remember
  • Reading the carry on info with a fine tooth comb
    • My Purse
    • Book Bag for Koko goodies

Our carry on bags:

  • Ear plugs for Koko & Headphones for me
  • Books for us
    • Yes Please by Amy Poehler
    • The Fuzzy Bunny for Koko
  • Change of Clothes for Koko
    • Just my luck, she'll poop everywhere
  • Pre-made To-Go Formula and Bottles (3)
    • Yes, I checked the fluid limits for TSA
  • A neck pillow that Koko got for her birthday
  • Squeeze Food and Cereal Bars for Koko
  • Bleach Wipes
    • People are nasty and its flu season
  • Planning our outfits because security
    • Long Sleeved Shirts
    • Hoodie/Cardigan
    • Leggings
    • Boots

Our weekend of Packing, Final Paper writing and a Koko Cold

I'm super nervous about not only the plane ride but also how Koko will interact with everyone.

Wish us luck in our travels.
