Christmas Wish List
In the recent months, I've been creating a list of books to that aren't for class. I've been in school for too many years to count at this point but earlier this semester, I brought Milk and Honey and I remembered how much I love reading.
Most of these books are about being a strong woman so I can't wait to read them all to better myself and the parenting of my Kub.
2017 will be the year I find a new hobby, one that doesn't involve school or Koko.
I am one of those oddballs that loves handwriting so I've been obsessed with calligraphy. I have this dream to make handwritten motivational messages for Koko.
I'm going to spend the first half of the year teaching myself, then the second half attending a class.
Anyone that reads my blog, knows that I rarely sit down.
My re introduction with yoga has made me want a fit Fitbit.
I didn't want one at first because I just thought it was a trend and I HATE trends.
The game changer was is that this one tracks my sleep which is really important for someone that has any form of Bipolar disorder.
Also how cute is this? Fitbit
As stressful as my life is the idea of presents every month is satisfying. Subscription boxes are another one of those trends I wasn't into until I found out about these two.
BrownToyBox is actually a gift for Koko. Their mission to affirm the beauty and build confidence and self esteem in Black children through toys, books and games. Items are based on gender and age so it's another thing I don't have to think about. Not only is Koko getting toys but I am happy that she's learning about her culture. It's important that she is proud of her culture and gender.
Rocksbox is for me! I have loved jewelry for as long as I can remember but shopping for it is a daunting task for me. Getting my jewelry picked out and sent to me will make me me dress like a person and not wear leggings and a bun 24/7.
(I know I'm odd but I overthink everything I buy because I'm on a tight budget and fear the one too many purchases means that I can't pay a bill)
I saved the most expensive for last.
I have been wanting a DSLR for 6 years.
I have a film camera that is great but I need more advanced technology to capture the chaos of my life.
Also, I don't have the time and money to buy film and spend time developing them or going to the dark room.
These are my two recent obsessions.
As I type this, I am wide awake at 3am before I run a 5K with my sister.
For some reason, I am thinking of my wish list for Christmas but let's be honest, I'll most likely have to buy these things for myself.
(Yes, I am blogging rather than writing a paper with all this extra energy)
